Odoo migration: a newer version, or software of your own.
Our Odoo migration services cover two routes. One takes your database and custom modules to a newer Odoo version. The other moves you off Odoo to software of your own, as ready to use as a standard package, built around how you work and priced like one. Which route pays off, we work out with you before anything moves. For businesses with about 10 staff or more.

When a migration comes up
- Your version is leaving standard support. Odoo gives each major version three years: for Odoo 17.0 that ended in September 2026, and for 18.0 the end is planned for September 2027. Extended support costs extra and is only available on Odoo.sh or on your own server.
- Custom modules are holding the upgrade up. Odoo can only upgrade a database once every custom module is ready for the target version, and whoever wrote them may have moved on.
- Your integrations use XML-RPC or JSON-RPC. Odoo has scheduled both for removal in Odoo 22 (autumn 2028), and on Odoo Online as early as 21.1 (winter 2027). Odoo 19.0 brought the JSON-2 API to replace them.
- You use a handful of apps, pay for every user and bend your processes to the software more than the other way round.
Three routes compared
For Enterprise customers, Odoo upgrades the standard apps free of charge. The work, and the decision, lies in everything outside that.

What we check before we quote

| Version and edition | Odoo’s free upgrade service comes with Enterprise. You can upgrade to any version still in standard support, or one that left it less than six months ago. |
| Hosting | On Odoo Online, upgrades are mandatory on Odoo’s schedule. On your own server you can stay on a version indefinitely, although Odoo doesn’t recommend it. |
| Custom modules | Odoo’s upgrade covers standard apps, Studio customisations while Studio is installed, and code under a maintenance of customisations subscription. Modules written in-house or by third parties are down to whoever maintains them. |

Limits and responsibility
- We aren’t an Odoo partner and don’t speak for Odoo. Odoo’s own upgrade service and support stay with Odoo, under your subscription.
- On Odoo Online, a finished production upgrade can’t be reversed. That’s why every go-live comes after a test database and a rehearsal.
- If staying on standard Odoo is the better choice for you, we’ll say so, even if it means less work for us.
- Whatever we host runs on servers in the EU wherever possible. Odoo’s upgrade platform handles your database under Odoo’s own privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions
Are you an Odoo partner?+
No. We work with the tools Odoo documents for every customer: the upgrade platform, data export and the external API. For anything that’s part of your subscription, Odoo remains your contact.
Will all our data come across if we leave Odoo?+
Odoo exports any list as CSV or Excel, and on the Custom plan the external API is there as well. We check the extract against your live data before anything moves.
Do we get a complete copy of Odoo?+
No. You get the parts you open every day, built around your process. The rest stays out.
What does an Odoo migration cost?+
After the workshop you know the number of sprints, each at a fixed price from €4,900. If you stay on Odoo, your Odoo subscription carries on as before.
