What n8n is
n8n is a workflow automation tool made by n8n GmbH in Berlin. A workflow is built from nodes that connect programs, reshape data and call AI models. Where no node exists, a Code node runs your own JavaScript or Python.
You can run n8n yourself. The self-hosted Community Edition is free and comes under the Sustainable Use License, which n8n describes as fair-code: the source code is public, but use is limited to your own internal business purposes. If you’d rather not look after a server, there’s n8n Cloud on a paid plan.
On top of it we build processes your team uses like finished software, set up for your business at the price of a standard solution.
Where it pays off
- Customer data should stay on your own servers or in the EU, including while it moves between programs.
- You’ve built a few workflows already, but nobody remembers which one does what. Errors only come to light when a customer rings.
- Your processes need more than if-this-then-that: loops, matching, AI steps and sign-off by a person.
- Lots of runs a day: with the self-hosted Community Edition you only pay for the server.

Limits and responsibility
- We aren’t an official partner of n8n GmbH. We use n8n where it suits the job and tell you when another tool or our own code fits better.
- The Community Edition is meant for your own internal processes. If customers or partners are to build or edit workflows themselves, you need a commercial licence from n8n. We check that up front.
- A self-hosted server needs updates and backups. Who does that is agreed in writing before the first workflow goes live.
- Steps that move money or write to customers wait for a person to sign them off.

Frequently asked questions
What does n8n itself cost?+
Self-hosted, the Community Edition is free and you pay for the server. If you need features such as single sign-on or Git version control, a paid edition comes on top. The current prices are on n8n’s website.
We already have workflows. Will you take them over?+
Yes. We go through them, tidy up, add error alerts and write down what each one does. Some we rebuild, when that’s quicker than patching.
Do we need an n8n consultant in-house afterwards?+
No. Day to day, you need one person who knows where the error alerts arrive. Your team can make small changes after training, and we help with bigger ones.
Is n8n always the right choice?+
No. For two or three simple connections a ready-made cloud service is often enough, and some processes run more reliably as a program of their own. We’ll tell you what we’d use and why.
